Time Travel

Dress: Free People  Hat: Forever21

Boots: Vintage

Necklace: Vintage  Ring: Thrift
My Beautiful mother admiring the general splendor

Took a trip downtown to the Detroit Historical Museum, which happens to be a favorite of mine. So interactive, each room is a replica of a distinct period in time. They even have a part that looks like a little town filled with storefronts and small shops. The coolest part is how the ground pavements change from cobblestone to brick, which matches different eras, so you feel like you're actually there! I decided to wear my Bow and Arrow Henley Dress from Free People with a rust color brim hat. I absolutely love the turquoise print of the dress as well as the ruffled hem, and in FP style it's very comfortable. Adding my vintage boots and key necklace with a fringe bag were the perfect accessories to seal my look. Not a bad way to start the weekend.

With Stride, In Command

Blouse, Trouser Pant, and Belt: American Apparel

Pumps: Steve Madden

Bag: Marc Jacobs

Lip Color: "Fiore" by Stila
I am absolutely in love with this white Secretary Chiffon Blouse and High Waist Trouser Pants from American Apparel. So versatile, you can pair them with just about anything in your closet for a more dressy or casual look. They also are perfect for any occasion, whether it's a day at the office, drinks with the girls, or Sunday morning service at church (which I opted for). I decided to keep the blouse untied for a more relaxed look and paired it with leopard pumps by Steve Madden and my vibrant pink bag by Marc Jacobs, so as to not make my look so serious. The pumps and bag makes my look fun and add the perfect pop of color and style.  I feel sexy and in command in this outfit- like I could run the world, but let's just take it one step at a time...in leopard pumps that is.

If there is one color I absolutely love, that is black. So bold, it makes any outfit instantly look chic. Much thanks to the cold weather I had the opportunity to wear my full length wool coat by Jones New York, which i'm so obsessed with. I love how long and full it is, adding a beatnik vibe. I decided to pair it with a simple black dress by Spring and Mercer, vintage black workmen boots, a beanie cap, and a gold cross drop chain. Adding a pop of color, I accessorized with my palm green Michael Kors shoulder bag which makes my look a lot more interesting. Not only is this look very comfortable but it just looks so...Cool. Walking around,"Sutphin Boulevard" by Blood Orange is for sure playing in the background, or at least in my mind.

Lazy Days

Sweater: Forever21

Socks: Urban Outfitters
Photos by: Cheryl Neely-Mckinney

The weather is rather cold and snowy here in Michigan, much to my dismay. However, I enjoy the days where I can cozy up with a hot cup of tea, play my records all day, and compose music on my piano. To go along with the relaxed environment, I decided to lounge in my oversized sweater from Forever21 which is extremely comfortable. I love how roomy it is, and decided to slouch the shoulders a bit which gave the sweater a sort of sexiness. Adding a pair of over- the- knee socks was the perfect touch too. I'm obsessed with the lace cream detail and buttons which makes them super feminine and cute. Perhaps winter isn't so bad after all.

A Bohemian Among Books

Lip color: Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in "Aria" by Stila

Sunglasses: Ray Bans

Leather Jacket: H&M Bag: Urban Outfitters Scarf and Necklace: Forever21 Dress: Free People Boots: Vintage

Decided to spend my afternoon picking up a few books at one of my favorite spots John King Books. As an avid reader, I could spend all my days surrounded by novels and classics, and John Kings is the perfect place to find literary treasures. I even made a friend with the owner's cat who took a liking to me. As much as loving John King's selections, I'm completely in love with my Neo Folk Embroidered Dress by Free People. I'm obsessed with how it effortlessly flows while perfectly cinching the waist, adding a feminine touch. I decided to pair my leather jacket and vintage service boots to toughen my look up a bit while adding a printed scarf to seal my boho look.
